The Product & The Ingredients That Bring The Results
The product is a safe and gentle staple for dry skin and a substitute to the awful cortisone & steroid ingredients found in many pharmaceutical eczema and psoriasis medications.
These steroid-based treatments usually come with their own collection of unpleasant side effects, however BIOSKINBALM is completely organic and helps your skin heal itself. It is also a substitute to artificial, chemical saturated products that are on the market and do not comprise any of the toxic or irritating chemical ingredients commonly found in conventional skin ‘care’ and even in specialty ‘health’ skin care products.
Nature’s genius: The success of nature’s gifts is based upon all things being in balance.
1. ROSE HIP OIL, is a natural source of both trans retinoic acid (Vitamin A) and essential fatty acids that work in conjunction with HYALURONIC ACID, a deep moisturizer. BIOSKINBALM also uses a carbohydrate moisture retainer called PENTAVITIN that rescues, repairs and returns sensitive, irritated, dry skin.
Rose Hip Seed Oil is from the seeds of a native wild rose that prospers in southern Chile. It has been used for hundreds of years in South America for its remarkable healing, moisturizing and restorative qualities. It helps cell regeneration, increases levels of collagen and elastin, producing a softer and stronger skin. It also helps to decrease pigmentation, raised scars and stretch marks by stimulating healthy skin renewal – it is effective even on old scars. When applied daily to the skin it protects it from free radical damage, related to the harmful impact of solar rays, weather and ageing.
Rose Hip oil contains high levels of essential fatty acids: oleic, linoleic, and linolenic, which help keep healthy skin. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and supports the skin with lipids that are necessary to fortify the external skin barrier and protect the body from allergens and toxins.
Rose hip oil is also a natural provider of trans-retinoic acid (a natural promoter of vitamin A) and works as a keratolityc which eliminates dead cells and accelerates skin turnover, as do trans-retinoic-acid in medical drugs but without any of their side effects.
Rose Hip oil was first studied in 1983 by a team of researchers from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacology at the University of Concepcion in Chile. They tested the oil’s effect on the skin’s regeneration mechanism. During the 2-year investigation, the oil was administered to 180 patients with surgical, injury and post-burn scars, as well as to a group afflicted with premature aging. It was found that Rose Hip Oil produced an effective regenerative action on the skin, helping to reduce scars and wrinkles, preventing advancement of premature aging, and recovering lost color and tone.
2. Helix Aspersa Müller glycoconjugates is a skin adaptogen secreted from within the cells of snails of the Helix Aspersa Müller class to protect its delicate unprotected skin from the sun’s rays, and to maintain its skin moist and hydrated.
This restorative fluid not only protects the snail’s skin from harm, it also helps the snail regenerate its own shell if it is ever cracked or broken. It even replaces and restores the functional capacity of its tentacles, eyes and mouth if bitten by birds.
The secretion also has antimicrobial properties to help protect the snail from bacteria. Thus, snails never suffer from skin infections – can you imagine that?
The glycoconjugates restore healthy skin, safely and naturally!
Due to the remarkable similarity between the structure of human and snail tissues, snail serum is 100% compatible with human skin. That implies that there are no allergic reactions, no burning, no redness – BIOSKINBALM is completely safe to use, even on newborn babies. This compatibility also implies that the advantages the snail gains from its own serum can now be enjoyed by YOU.
3. Hyaluronic Acid is contained naturally in the snail serum but we add an additional amount into our BIOSKINBALM formula because of its capacity to hold 1000 times its weight in water and thus deeply improve the moisturizing results of the balm.
4. The balm also includes Pentavitin™, a patented, exceptionally effective moisture retainer and controller.
Its structure is very similar to that of the organic carbohydrate fraction found in the stratum corneum of the human skin. Pentavitin™ is an extremely concentrated aqueous solution and the result of a carefully designed process of isomerization of the plant derivative, D-glucose. Due to its natural construction and composition, Pentavitin™ works as an extremely effective moisture controller derivating in long lasting water retention.
Pentavitin™ gets its moisture-attracting properties by binding itself to free amino groups of lysine found in the keratin of the stratum corneum. This exceptional type of binding results in a unique substantivity and compatibility with the skin. Once bound to the skin’s surface Pentavitin™ cannot be washed off easily. Pentavitin™ is effective for protecting dry skin from classical conditions like fragility, dryness and unevenness.
When you apply the balm, you will enjoy a level of skin protection and reparation like no other product you have ever tried:
BIOSKINBALM protects you against the harm done by pollution, allergens, UV rays and microbes. The regenerative properties found in BIOSKINBALM will decrease the presence of scars, Rosacea, stretch marks, skin roughness, dry skin, rashes, actinic keratosis, acne, eczema, fine lines, dermatitis and keloid scarring.
When you use BIOSKINBALM as a routine skin care regimen, it will not only make your skin more beautiful, but it may also help relieve your worst skin conditions.
The healing properties found in the snail serum and thus in BIOSKINBALM work together with the best botanical ingredients available to recover the lipids in the skin barrier and provide and conserve moisture. This helps to improve skin that has been damaged by time, sun exposure, the elements, scar tissue, irritation from allergens and other contributing factors along with bacterial and viral infections.
BIOSKINBALM is the only organic skin care product that is NOT a mixture of chemical nor pharmaceutical compounds, but rather a cream made of a substance found in Nature and created by a living being. Its compound is specifically created to moisturize, protect, and – here’s the crucial part – regenerate its skin.
For thousands of years people in Asia, Africa and South America have employed extracts from plants, frog skin or snail serum to heal injuries, burns and skin infections. The latest discoveries in medical science have started to unlock the magic of these millenary techniques. Findings of naturally active peptides and proteins in snail cells and mucins (Kubota Y et al., 1985) in frog skin (Zasloff, 1987) and in plants (Broekaert et al., 1995) sustain the beneficial effects of these organic treatments. The bioactive peptides are highly effective against several types of microbes and are therefore named antimicrobial peptides.
Staphylococcus Aureus and other bacteria are detectable in 90% of eczema episodes. Bacteria adheres more readily to skin that is inflamed, making the eczema episode worse because of exudations known as super-antigens. These allergy-inducing substances activate the defensive cells in the skin, causing them to produce secretions that further increase inflammation. Regulating bacteria on the skin can help regulate the eczema.
The magic of nature is also part of our innate skin defense system.
Mammals are born with antimicrobial peptides ranked as an important barrier against microbial invasion (Gallo and Nizet, 2003). Their skin is a defensive cover between internal organs and the outside environment. It is menaced daily to thousands of potential pathogens, a host of toxoids and physical trauma. In order to bear these challenges, skin epithelium functions as a physical barrier and has an intense defensive duty in the identification of microbes as well as in the synthesis of cytokines and defense molecules such as antimicrobial peptides. The number of papers demonstrating the presence and upregulation of antimicrobial peptides in human skin is growing and reflects the significance of these peptides in skin conservation and treatment.
The fact that the snail glycoconjugates embodies glycoproteins that kills bacteria and also biologically induces the expression of endogenous antimicrobial peptides that fight infection has been acknowledged for years. Scientists have struggled to duplicate its bioactive molecules in the laboratory (through biotechnology). This is a promising new venue for research, developing effective drugs and patenting them, but bringing a drug to clinical experimentation is time consuming and costly. It is estimated that it takes $300 million to bring a drug to stores. This price covers everything from discovery, analysis, production and clinical experimentation. This process may also take 10 or more years to accomplish.
Discovered by keen observation and a fair dose of luck
Happily, by chance a snail farm in Chile realized that snail handlers had extraordinarily soft hands, and any cuts, blemishes or injuries to their hands had healed surprinsingly fast and without scars. Simultaneously a doctor in Spain had noticed that snails secreted mucous when exposed to ionizing radiation (X ray and gamma radiation employed for cancer radiotheraphy) and that it protected them from degenerative effects.
His interest guided him to investigate the effects of the substance on human skin, analysis what was in it and do clinical trials. He confirmed that the substance granted a scarless healing of injuries, cuts, blemishes and recovered the skin’s health after bruising caused by cancer radiation treatments. He also discovered that the substance healed the skin even of chemical burns. The invention of a balm and the experience of thousands of patients with skin conditions has motivated us to persist in our quest to make this product available to you.
The antibiotic agent of the snail’s mucus is a glycoprotein whose molecular weight (MW) is approximately 160,000. Comp Biochem Physiol C. 1985; 82(2):345-8. It kills both gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa), but only in their growing states. Investigations of the shape of bacteria affected by the glycoprotein in the secretions have shown that it lengthens the bodies of E. coli by 3 to seven times, damaging the surface of Staphylococcus aureus and causing the cytoplamic membranes to cave in.
By blocking the microbial passage to the blood stream, this natural complex permits your defensive system to heal the injury while in an environment similar to that in which a broken bone heals inside the body, thus evading expensive scar treatments.
Treatment of Skin Irritations & Skin Infections Without the Downfalls of Most Products
The balm helps to relieve the symptoms of rosacea, acne, irritation, dryness, dermatitis, and eczema, and avoids infections of the skin without the pitfalls of pharmaceutical antibiotics or the side effects of harsh chemicals commonly found in topical skin products.
The natural ingredients found in the balm also help accelerate cell regeneration. They mend lesions produced by sebum excess or blocked pores to the cells lining the sebum canals. They regenerate skin that has been harmed by injuries due to laser, burns, accident, dermabrasion, scratching, surgery, or other causes. They dissolve plugged pores that impede sebum outflow and eliminate excess keratin agglomerations found in actinic keratosis and keratosis pilaris caused by enzymes that decompose them into their amino acid units.
Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), Antimicrobial Peptides & Skin Rejuvenating Stimulators Snail secretions include sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), present as highly acidic protein-free polysaccharides.
GAGs-binding and the control of a large number of ligands and receptors are crucial mediators of normal cell and tumor cell functionality. They can oversee behaviors such as their proliferation, differentiation, expansion, and adhesion. The specific composition of GAG chains and their binding proteins influence tumor cell proliferation, metastasis, and cancer development. GAGs such as heparin, dermatan sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, heparan sulfate and hyaluronic acid serve as vital organic response modifiers by functioning as (1) stabilizers, cofactors, and/or co-receptors for growth factors, cytokines, and chemokines; (2) regulators of enzyme action; (3) signaling molecules in response to cellular injuries, such as wound healing, infection, and tumorigenesis; (4) targets for bacterial, viral, and parasitic virulence factors for attachment, invasion, and defensive system; (5) regulators of neurite outgrowth; and (6) anti-inflammatory factor that restricts oxidative corruption after tissue injury.
In the snail’s body tissues, GAGs are mainly found inside granules and in the shell. They are secreted onto the surface as a viscose liquid material. Snail glycosaminoglycan tightly binds divalent copper cations (Cu 2+) and creates copper peptides, with skin regeneration properties. The proportion of copper in the snail mucins is impressive, but copper peptides have also been shown to be active in nanomolar amounts.
Control of overgrowth of cells in Keloids The restricting action of glycosaminoglycans tumor growth and the control of the fibroblast growth factor may help explain why many of our clients that have used our products to treat keloid scars, have experienced a rapid and significant reduction of keloids along with relief from itching and pain, and in many cases, may have also experienced full eradication of keloids.
Prevention and Remedy of Symptoms of Rosacea.
The application of the cream to a zone afflicted by rosacea has unexpectedly improved and alleviated the symptoms of rosacea. Topical use has also helped to avoid episodes of rosacea symptoms in people that use it routinely on their face.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition described by four distinct clinical phases mainly involving the central aspect of the face. The first evidence of rosacea is a persistent and intense vasodilation or flushing. In most patients this condition advances to a vascular phase described by redness of the skin due to the congestion of the capillaries (erythema). Once initiated, it can continue for hours or days. Many people remain stable in this phase while some advance to an inflammatory phase defined by a symmetrical array of papules and pustules in addition to the persistent erythema. This phase can usually become a permanent condition. Some people, mostly males, can advance to the final phase defined by swelling or a distinctive hyperplasia (abnormal increase in the amount of cells), mainly of the cells on the nose.
Rosacea skin care commonly involves topical or oral antibiotics such as metranidazole and combinations like sulfacetamide, sulfur, and azeliec acid. However, these and other solutions for rosacea are all associated to various side effects. They are expensive and/or involve long complicated treatment. BIOSKINBALM can relieve Rosacea symptoms by itself and is also beneficial when used with other rosacea treatments because it relieves their unwanted side effects.
Control of Activity of Cathelicidin Peptides that may Activate Symptoms of Rosacea.
Dr. Richard Gallo, chief of dermatology, University of California, San Diego, and colleagues have lately deduced that a natural substance that is part of the body’s innate defensive system appears to play a role in creating the papules (bumps) and pustules (pimples) of rosacea. (Study funded by the National Rosacea Society (NRS) to discover potential causes and other key aspects of the disorder during the 5º Annual Rosacea Research Workshop, 2004, held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Society for Investigative Dermatology).
He realized that the body creates peptides to protect itself from viruses, fungi and bacteria. He hypothesizes that certain peptides known as cathelicidins may be stimulated too quickly in rosacea patients. The level of the defensive cathelicidins was 200 percent to 300 percent higher in rosacea patients. While many types of bacteria can trigger the synthesis of cathelicidins, he stated that they seem to be particularly susceptible to the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which has been associated with rosacea in some studies.
The researchers have also realized that while the peptide is inactive when it first appears on the skin’s surface, enzymes in sweat make it active. They concluded that cathelicidins may stimulate the synthesis of bumps and pimples in rosacea. This may possibly be in association with H. pylori and other bacterial triggers.
Interestingly enough the GAGs found in the snail’s mucus play a part in controlling the function and presence of those endogenous peptides and work as crucial defense molecules against quickly dividing bacteria. This may help us understand so many testimonials from clients stating that they have erased or cut down the redness induced by rosacea or eczema by using the balm.
Control of Blood Vessel Proliferation in Rosacea.
According to Dr. Thiboutot, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a controller of blood vessel growth that can be associated to sun exposure, is highly present in the sebaceous glands of patients with rosacea (5º Annual Rosacea Research Workshop, 2004). She noticed that previous research had found that VEGF can be implicated in the creation of visible blood vessels in rosacea, and that rosacea patients may therefore be especially sensitive to solar light exposure.
In a further study, researchers found that neuropeptides — substances created by neurones or other cells in the skin — and ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation (found in solar light) seem to stimulate the production of VEGF. Dr. Richard Granstein, director of dermatology at Cornell University, reported that small amounts of UVB, a type of solar ray that causes sunburn, appears to boost the production of VEGF in endothelial cells — that is, cells that line blood vessels.
In addition, UVB provoked an elevation in interleukin 8, which plays a part in inflammation. The peptide somatostatin, however, had an inhibiting effect on interleukin and on VEGF synthesis in certain skin cells known as keratinocytes. The relation to rosacea is still being explored.
A study done in 2003 demonstrated that in the culture of human vascular endothelial cells, snail GAGs at 10 and 100 micro g ml(-1) inhibited VEGF-induced capillary tube formation. These findings suggest that the inhibitory effect of the snail GAGs on the creation of new capillary networks from pre-existing blood vessels is because of the inhibition of exaggerated VEGF-induced vascular tube creation without altering its production. This may explain reports of some rosacea sufferers that have found comfort by using the balm twice a day on afflicted areas and others who have applied it to avoid further rosacea outbreaks.
Heals Dermatitis Caused by Exposure to Ionizing Radiotherapy for Cancer – Radiodermatitis
An in depth research conducted in Spain, in 2000 and 2001, studied the influences of snail mucins in topical treatment of radiodermatitis, and confirmed the presence of antioxidants and the functionality of the fibroblast growth factor in the snail secretion and its excellent results to avoid and treat radiodermatitis when administrated to patients undergoing ionizing radiation therapy for the management of malignant cells.
The study demonstrated the presence of antioxidant effects in the snail’s secretion: enzymatic as in superoxide dismutase (SOD), conjugation enzymes like glutathione-S-transferase and low molecular weight antioxidants. The antioxidant activities of the secretion can inhibit or weaken the proliferation of free radicals which can end the domino effect of spreading damaging reactions.
The research also demonstrated, with no doubt, the presence of Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGB) activities with a cell protection effect. The secretion improves cellular activity and the innate regenerative processes of the skin matrix, making skin healthier and stronger.
At the same time, the degradation of damaged proteins caused by the enzymes in the secretion gives an additional support to the antioxidants by protecting the skin from inflammatory agents. And moisture holding molecules in the secretion restore skin moisture, alleviating dry skin caused by ionizing radiation.
Erases acne scarring.
BIOSKINBALM eliminates dead cells by producing enzymatic dissolution, destroying pathogens, healing and triggering the regeneration of damaged skin tissues.
Once inside the follicle the bio-active compound in BIOSKINBALM will stimulate the formation of new elastic cells, collagen and pigmentation, filling in scar cavities. It will also shrink and dissolve the old fibrous collagen formed to repair damaged tissues. Soon new ‘invisible’ hair, known as lanugo, will appear in the restored hair follicles. It will also “pump-up” the cells and the “ground substances” in the skin. That also reduces wrinkles on the skin’s surface.
The secret of BIOSKINBALM is not only that it provides the normal ingredients which may be deficient in the skin, but also restores the skin renewal process by stimulating the germinal cells. The results are a thicker and healthier looking skin, a healthy skin color, better skin texture and better skin tissue turgidity.
BIOSKINBALM means clearer skin – skin you can touch, skin you can kiss, skin you are not ashamed to show to the world, whether you’re out shopping, in a formal meeting, at school or at the beach. You can use BIOSKINBALM with confidence, knowing it is made with healthy and natural snail serum plus an all-natural component designed to recover the moisture barrier of your skin. BIOSKINBALM is perfume-free and contains all natural preservatives.
BIOSKINBALM also helps in the fast regeneration of healthy skin that has been exposed to interventions such as laser surgery, microdermabrasion or chemical peels.
BIOSKINBALM accelerates skin renewal. After a wound, lesion or inflammatory response has appeared on the skin, both skin cells and connective tissue cells (fibroblasts) begin reproducing to repair the damage. The fibroblasts form a framework upon which the skin cells can migrate to and fill-in the injury.
It is the balance between the speed of replication of fibroblasts versus skin cells that is IMPORTANT. If the fibroblasts replicate too fast, they can form a solid network that is not as easily penetrated by the skin cells and that results in a big thick scar. If the skin cells keep up with the fibroblasts, then little scar tissue appears and the skin has a more normal look after the injury has healed.
Thus, to get optimal results it is INDISPENSABLE that skin healing advances at more than a snail’s pace, and here is where BIOSKINBALM plays it’s part: for it SPEEDS-UP the PROCESS OF INJURED SKIN REJUVENATION.
How to treat PSORIASIS, SKIN RASHES, DERMATITIS, ECZEMA with the balm Use BIOSKINBALM twice a day to greatly diminish symptoms and IMPROVE THE TEXTURE AND appearance of skin. BIOSKINBALM is an integral and equilibrated skin solution guaranteed to work for you.
Simply apply BIOSKINBALM gently with your fingertips. Wait ten minutes for the beneficial ingredients in this natural treatment to reach your skin cells and then apply your makeup as always. It’s that easy. BIOSKINBALM is the ideal daily restorative healing, soothing and comforting solution for a blemish-free complexion – even for the most sensitive skin.
This formula is a ‘miracle’. It has performed miracles, that my doctor could not, with several prescriptions. I have only used for 1.5 months, and already, I am ‘looking healed and gooood’, which makes me feel good!!! Thanks again!
K. In Hou. Texas. USA.
Is my third purchase. I’ve purchased you product for my teenage daughters acne. She had been seeing a dermatalogist for over five years and they could not get the acne to clear. She has been on your product for about four months and we have seen incredible results.
Joy Naylor. Ohio, USA.
WOW!!! I am truly impressed by this product. I have been using it for over a month now, and my skin has barely been breaking out at all. The large red spots, and pitted scars are disappearing, and I think that in time they may actually be gone forever. Thank you so much for producing this product, and give your little snails a pat on the back for me.
Alexis Stafford. British Columbia, Canada.
I have used this product to treat acne and inflammation and it is the best out there. I highly recommend it. A suggestion would be to package it in a pump bottle as opposed to a jar if possible. My last jar spilled all over the floor when I dropped it. I love the balm. It’s excellent even for very sensitive skin such as mine. It literally stops a breakout and decreases inflammation overnight!
